Andrew: The Model

"Will you come model for me?"

I haven't talked to Andrew since before I left for Uganda over a year ago!. But there he was in the coffee shop wearing one classy hat that made him look like he stepped straight out of the 1920s. And I had to ask my question, no matter how random, bizarre, and otherwise weird.

Yeah, you read right. I asked a boy if I could take his pictures.

Probably the most random thing I've ever done. (Well, skipping around a block in three-inch heels was also random. And almost as incriminating. But not quite as embarrassing.) Eleanor Roosevelt said to "Do one thing every day that scares you." And for some bizarre reason I decided to follow her advice and step out of my comfort zone and do the unthinkably un-Jenniferesque.

But apparently Andrew didn't think me weird, obnoxious, creepy, or otherwise insane.

(Or, if he did think me completely out of my mind, he didn't show it. A fact for which I will be eternally grateful.)

In fact, not only did he consider the possibility, he even showed up at the shoot.

And not only did he show up, he willing complied with all my insane requests.

And, um, not only did he willing comply, he did a mucho fabuloso job at it, too.

So when he decides to abandon his freshman year of college in exchange for a career modeling for Banana Republic and J. Crew, you'll know it was all because of me and one random question at the coffee shop. :-P

Phenomenal! This is _good_ work.

(And you weren't sure you could a professional photographer.)

My favorite is the black and white by the pool. ...Not that the red balloons aren't a great contrast. :-)

Of the color ones, my favorite is the one in the earlier post with the caption. :-)

I like the one of him sitting on the bench and the girls blurring by! So do you just focus your camera on him so that it is clear and slow down the shutter speed a bit to get this effect?? I'm new to photography, can you tell? =P

Hey Sandy! Yes, putting Andrew on the bench and having the girls walk past him was all in-camera: I slowed down the shutter speed to just-slow-enough and told the girls to walk fast. =)
