Ragweed? Beautiful?

It doesn't make sense, does it?

I mean. Allergy suffers unite: ragweed ain't beautiful.

But.

Add the blooming color with a sinking sun on a September day in the mountains. And what have we?

We see a reminder that even the most mundane elements of life are intrinsically embedded with beauty because they are created by a God bigger than the evils and sufferings that the world seems to be full of.

Did you catch that?

Think about it.

God gets the glory for this beautiful flower, even though it makes some people sneeze and itch and be miserable.

Maybe its a shaky example, but I draw comfort from the fact that no matter what evil/pain/suffering that the world holds, God is going to ultimately get the glory and He'll somehow work good despite the evil.

(And did you notice the bee in the picture above?? Hehe. I love it.)

[Edit: the actual botanical classification for these weeds is up for dispute. I am a photographer, not a botanist.]

Nice pics Jenn.... In Wisconsin, we would call this weed goldenrod. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldenrod

Hm. Either Wisconsin people are ill-informed or North Carolinians have different names for the same weed, or I am not a botanist. I will settle for the latter, and accept that your wiki article is probably more knowledgeable than me. :-P

Goldrenrod and ragweed are often confused. Both are wild flowers blooming in late summer and fall which look very similar, yet ragweed is the culprit behind pollinosis (hay fever). Neither though am I a botanist or photographer, but these are very nice photos nonetheless the debate.
